Walter Woodrow Cains

Walter Woodrow Cains, 88, of Denton went to be with his Lord Friday May 4, 2018 at his residence. Woodrow was born April 14, 1930 in Denton, KY a son of the late Oscar and Goldie Stevens Cains. In addition to his parents Woodrow was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Milton Cains; two sisters, Cloe Gillman and Madge Marcum; and two brothers, Cecil Cains and George C. Cains.
Woodrow was a US Army Veteran who served his country honorably. After his military service Woodrow went to work for General Refractories and retired after 25 years. Woodrow was an avid Cincinnati Reds fans; and enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing.
Woodrow is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Bessie Waugh Cains; a daughter, Kathy (Bill) Neice of Denton; a son, Ted (Wanda) Cains of Findlay, OH; a daughter in-law, Debbie Faye Cains of Denton; four grandchildren, Angie (Brenden) Simmons, Jessica Cains, Lacy (Jeniffer) Neice and Steven Neice; three great grandchildren, Jayden Davis, Ayla Neice and Katie Neice; three sisters, Faye Evans of Fort Hood, TX, Ruth Marcum of Hitchins and Dottie Cole of Ashland; two brothers, Claude Cains of Denton and Don Cains of Huntington, W.V.; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday May 8, 2018 at the Malone Funeral Home with Joe Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 11 am Tuesday until the service hour. Condolences may be sent to the Cains Family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
