William Edgar Carper, 84 of Grayson went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care Center. Edgar was born February 12, 1935 in Grayson a son of the late Ward and Letha Meenach Carper. He attended the Everman Missionary Baptist Church, retired from the coal business and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his first wife Haley Shepherd Carper; one son, Roger Carper; three brothers, Oral Lee Carper, Vernon Carper and Robert Carper; three sisters, Audrey Stalker, Opal Jordan and Beulah Lowe. His survivors include his wife of 40 years, Patty Clark Carper; four sons, Charles Carper of Carter City, Jeff Carper of Cynthiana KY, Darrell Carper of Lexington KY and Michael Jeffrey Carper of Willard OH; four daughters, Brenda Lewis of Carter City, Joyce Crowe of Lexington, Joetta Everman of Lexington and Kelly Detterman of York PN; two sisters, Betty Preston of Chillicothe OH and Darlene Smith of Greenup; two brothers, Curt Carper and James Carper both of Carter City; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services Monday 1:00p.m. at Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Schmidt, minister. Burial will be in the Horsley Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 6-9 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. Monday. Condolences and memories may be sent to the Carper family at www.malonefuneralhome.com.
