William Franklin Chavers, 74, of Grayson went to be with his Lord Thursday July 25, 2019 at his residence. William was born February 25, 1945 in Prattville, AL a son of the late Cecil and Flossie Newman Chavers. William served his country honorably from 1963-1984 in the US Navy having retired as a Signalman 1st class. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Harold Chavers; two sisters, LeMearle Shedd and Nelda Carter. William is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Pam Messer Chavers; son, Wayne Weber of Grayson; daughter, LeeAnn Chavers of SC; four sisters, Carol (Archie) Martin of Elmore, AL, Shirley Gandy of Prattville, AL, Agnes Mullins of Spanish Fort, AL and June (Kenneth) Marbutt of Hernando, FL; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Mongold, Aloha Chavers, Jared Jordan, Cade Weber and Veronica Weber; one great-grandson, Jaxon Lee Jordan.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday July 29, 2019 at the Malone Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East with full military honors performed by the US Navy and AML Kenova Post 93. Visitation will be Sunday 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and after 9 am Monday until the service hour. Memorial contributions are suggested to: Lower Grassy Church of Christ, 1550 St Hwy 773, Grayson, KY 41143.
