William Lowell Plummer, 94, of Grayson went to be with his Lord Thursday, August 1, 2019 at his residence. William was born July 2, 1925 in Carter County, KY, a son of the late Franklin Aldon and Sarah “Edith” Ramey Plummer. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Franklin Plummer and Orel Lee Plummer.
William was a member of Carter Christian Church having served as a deacon and treasurer. William received a bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University. William retired from Carter High School as a science teacher. A life-long farmer, William was a 21-year board member at RECC, and served on the Farm Bureau Committee.
William is survived by two nieces and two nephews, Deborah (Jeff) Marks of Winston Salem, NC; C. Keith (Careen) Plummer of Cambridge, OH, David Brian Plummer of Seattle, WA, and Jennifer (John) Howe of Colonial Heights, VA; great nieces and nephews; Kristen (Brock) Adkins of Winston Salem, NC; Katelyn (Derek) Drye of Nashville, TN, Jessica (Timothy) Gadd of Columbus, OH, Michael K. (Christinna) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Virginia Plummer of Yorktown, VA; great-great nieces, Kinsey, Ella, Piper and Gwendolyn; and a host of close friends who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday August 4, 2019 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Terrell Webb and David Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in the Grayson Memorial Burial Park.
