Woodrow Franklin Hamilton

Woodrow Franklin “Woody” Hamilton, 81, of Grayson went to be with his Lord Monday, November 13, 2023. Woody was born April 28, 1942 in Gregoryville, KY a son of the late Charlie and Etna Hall Hamilton. Including his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his first wife, Deloris Dickerson Hamilton; a son, Tony Allen Hamilton; a grandson, Tyler Johnson; and seven brothers, Robert Hamilton, James Hamilton, Ercel Hamilton, Russell Hamilton, Elwood Hamilton, Elmer Hamilton and Ellis Hamilton. Woody was a US Army Veteran serving his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Woody served as the President of the VFW 1168 in Greenup, KY. Woody was an employee with Ruth Paving, worked with the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority; a farmer and a past school bus driver. Woody was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. Woody is survived by his loving wife, Reva J. Thompson Hamilton; a daughter, Tammy Hamilton-Johnson of Georgetown, KY; four grandchildren, Laken Berry, Kara Hamilton, Christy Johnson and Fisher Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln Allen Berry and Everlee Renee Johnson; a step-daughter, Cheryl (Jason) James; a step-granddaughter, Emily (Kyle) Skaggs; five step-great-grandchildren, Maya Marshall, Kaden Skaggs, Laken Skaggs, Isabella Skaggs and Jaden Skaggs; two sisters, Imogene Horton and Irene McGlone both of Louisville, KY; and many friends and extended family who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 11 am Monday November 20, 2023 at the Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Bradley Cotten officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East with military honors. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Sunday and after 9 am Monday until the service hour.
